נִוְנֶה
נוני, נִוְנֶה(= נונו = נענע v. preced.; cmp. צִוְצֵי, s. v. צָוַץ) to be tender, delicate. Hithpalp. הִתְנַוְנֶה, Nithpa. נִתְנַוְנֶה to become delicate, be failing, to fall away. B. Kam.91a אמדוהו והיה מִתְנַוְנֶה והולך (Ms. M. מִתְנַוְונֶה; ed. Sonc. מִתְנַוֶּה) if the experts declared his injuries as curable (and the court assessed the damages accordingly), but he continues to be falling away. Ḥull.57b מִתְנַוְונָה והולכת (Tosef. ib. III, 9 מכחשת) if the animal loses flesh, opp. משבחת. Sot.III, 5; ib. 6a מתנוונא (corr. acc.). Ib. 26a במתנונה דרך איברים when she is ailing all over the body (not suffering locally as predicted for the faithless woman, Num. 5:27); Y. ib. III, 19a bot. המִתְנַוָּוה.
